
Morria Heilman Receives the Robert Bartlett Student Recognition Award
Morria Heilman received the 2023 Robert Bartlett Student Recognition Award for Service and Leadership Excellence at a ceremony honoring the 2023 graduates.
Dr. Heilman was class treasurer and chair of service and philanthropy. She worked as a graduate assistant and as an interview day volunteer. She also served as the Allied Health Representative on the Duke University Judicial Board for one year and as a mentor for the Duke F1rsts Program, a network for first-generation graduate students.
Genna Da’Shae Locklear Receives the Inclusive Excellence Award
Genna Da’Shae Locklear is a critical voice and a powerful force for change and does it all with grace, empathy, and resilience. She received the Inclusive Excellence Award at a lunch honoring the 2023 graduates.
New Grads Join a Rich Duke Legacy
Members of the Class of 2023 were hooded Saturday, May 13, earning their doctorates in a special ceremony held at the Washington Duke Inn. It marked the 79th class to graduate from the Duke physical therapy program.
“As you celebrate your accomplishments today, think about how now you are now part of the Duke DPT legacy, “ said Division Chief Todd Cade. “Not many programs have as rich of a history and legacy as we do.”

Student Volunteers Needed for The Soccer Tournament June 1-4
Organizers of The Soccer Tournament set for June 1-4 at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary are recruiting DPT student volunteers. Students would work in the Athlete’s Village alongside athletic trainers, sports PTs, and sports medicine physicians to help care for the athletes before and after their matches.
DPT White Coat Ceremony Set for June 6
The DPT Class of 2024 will soon leave campus to begin their final year of clinical experiences. Ninety-five DPT students will mark this milestone by donning their brand new white coats in a ceremony set for 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 6, at Duke Chapel.
