Our program delivers an evidence-based, progressive curriculum that emphasizes a team-based approach to learning, both in the classroom and in a range of clinical settings. Our format provides students with unique opportunities to explore specific practice areas after completing their foundational courses. Students can choose from nine Advanced Practice Courses to further their career development goals.
Team-based learning (TBL) is an active teaching/learning technique that promotes individual and group accountability, collaborative learning, and the acquisition of higher-order cognitive skills. These are essential skills for all professionals in our dynamic healthcare environment.
Students prepare background information and material before coming to class so they can apply the concepts they have reviewed and participate in an active learning session.
Every student brings a unique and diverse perspective. In a group learning environment, students benefit from increased collaboration and communication and from hearing different aspects of clinical reasoning from their peers. This process teaches students to work together to provide optimal patient care.
