Jake Awruch PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT, has been a physical therapist since 2014 and has worked at Duke since 2019. He has taught in both Duke’s Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship program and Orthopaedic Residency program. He has also assisted with several Duke orthopaedic and manual therapy courses. 

He completed a fellowship in orthopedic manual physical therapy and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. He is a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopaedics through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and a member of the APTA.

He earned a bachelor's degree in Health Sciences (2010) and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (2014) from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT.

Dr. Awruch has traveled on several occasions to Lima, Peru to educate local physical therapists and provide PT services to underserved communities. He enjoys snowboarding and playing soccer, as well as running marathons, mountain biking and surfing. He is driven to learn more as a PT and educator and seeks to inspire others around him.
