Limited opportunities for clinical year rotations are available to non-Duke PA students. Preference will be given to North Carolina-based PA programs and a maximum of three visiting students will be accepted from any given program per academic cycle. Applications from non-North Carolina-based programs will be considered when the requested clinical experience is unique and cannot be obtained in the home program’s community or region. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, and acceptance will be based on first-come, first-served availability. Participation requires a completed Affiliation Agreement between the student’s home institution and the Duke University School of Medicine prior to the deadline for application submission. Visiting students must apply for the rotation through the Clinical Program Coordinator at the Duke PA Program and through the Visiting Student Coordinator at the Office of the Registrar in the School of Medicine. Contact from a faculty or staff member of the visiting student’s home program to the Duke PA Clinical Program Coordinator should precede the application submission to ascertain the availability of a requested rotation. Potential visiting students should not initiate contact with Duke preceptors and should not be the first point of contact with the Duke PA Program.
All applications are due 90 days prior to the start of the requested rotation block. Visiting student rotations are confirmed once availability is determined and no sooner than 90 days prior to the start of the rotation.
