Institutional Resources

The Duke Physician Assistant Program is committed to providing the access needed to help all of our learners thrive.

We see adherence to ADA regulations as a starting place, not an endpoint. We also strive to create an environment where asking for help is encouraged and where our faculty, staff, and students know they can reach out for help in achieving their goals.

At the program level we have a designated Disability Service Liaison (DSL) who works with the Student Disability Access Office (SDAO), faculty, staff, and preceptors to ensure accommodations are implemented appropriately.

At the university level, students are encouraged to utilize available resources, such as:

Student Disability Access Office (SDAO)

Connect with a Disability Resource Professional (DRP) who will review your records and determine reasonable accommodations.

Office for Institutional Equity (OIE)

OIE provides education and support for the Duke University and Duke Health community to advance Duke's shared values of respect, trust, inclusion, discovery, and excellence.

Student Health Services

Offers a wide range of healthcare services for all Duke students, many of which are covered by the student health fee.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)

Individual and group counseling as well as referrals to community providers. Includes Blue Devils Care with access to 24/7 virtual counseling services.

Bulletin of Duke University School of Medicine
