Svati H. Shah is a Professor of Medicine, Associate Dean for Genomics and Director of the Precision Genomics Collaboratory within the Duke School of Medicine. She is also Director of the Adult Cardiovascular Genetics Clinic within the Division of Cardiology in the Department of Medicine and is Co-Director of Translational Research within the Duke Molecular Physiology Institute. Her research laboratory focuses on the molecular epidemiology of cardiometabolic disease using integrated 'omics technologies, including genomics and metabolomics, to identify novel biomarkers of cardiometabolic disease pathogenesis. Dr. Shah is a board-certified practicing cardiologist who cares for patients with monogenic cardiovascular disorders.

Doug Marchuk is the James B. Duke Distinguished Professor of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology. He is also the Director of the University Program in Genetics and Genomics and the Center for Experimental Genetics. His research laboratory focuses on the genetics of cardiovascular disease using both the human and the mouse as a model system.
