OBGE’s Core Competencies and accompanying Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) were initially drafted based on a peer-reviewed published paper (Verderame et al., 2018[1]). Using the Delphi Technique, a list of SLO statements for each milestone was reviewed by the OBGE Advisory Board, consisting of 14 Duke SoM Biomedical interdisciplinary faculty members, who rated the SLOs' relevancy and consistency with PhD milestones and relevant learning activities. The SLOs receiving the highest ratings, in conjunction with suggested modifications from the OBGE Advisory Board, resulted in the targeted SLOs reflected in the OBGE Core Competencies table.
