Faculty Group Coaching: Spring 2025

We recognize that we are in a period of uncertainty and rapid change that may impact you in a multitude of ways. In an effort to support our community during this time, the School of Medicine Office for Faculty will be offering free group coaching sessions for faculty members. Sessions are open to all SOM faculty members, and you may attend as many (or as few) of these group coaching sessions as you would like between March-May. All sessions will be held via Zoom.

Sessions will focus on relevant topics such as:

  • Understanding and navigating uncertainty
  • Boundaries
  • Recognizing where you have influence and control
  • Problem solving
  • Maintaining values alignment
  • Well-being
  • and more

Each session will be co-facilitated by an executive coach (see bios) and a partner from Duke Health Employee Experience or the Personal Assistance Service.

Group coaching IS:

  • Used for the purpose of reflection and personal growth
  • An opportunity to share and hear others' perspectives
  • A space for vulnerability and honesty
  • A place to receive support and feedback
  • An opportunity to set goals that expand your control and agency
  • *It could also include a space for learning techniques

Group coaching is NOT:

  • Therapy
  • Sitting back to listen to others without contributing
  • A space for self-judgement
  • A space to judge others
  • A place to share sensitive healthcare information (PHI) about non-participants

This initiative is part of a continuum of opportunities available to support faculty during uncertain times.
