Simon Gregory among School of Medicine’s 2024 Distinguished Professors

This spring, 18 faculty members in the Duke University School of Medicine have been awarded distinguished professorships. The new distinguished professors will be honored at the annual distinguished professorship event on May 23.    In total, 32 new distinguished professors across Duke University were approved by the Board of Trustees in February.  Distinguished professorships are awarded to faculty who have demonstrated extraordinary scholarship in advancing science and improving human health.   

19th Annual DPT 5K Run & Walk: April 13

Registration is now open for the Duke DPT 19th Annual 5K! The event brings the community together and raises funds for a terrific cause. This year's race will occur on April 13 at 10:00 a.m. on the Duke East Campus Loop.

CCN and DIBS Entering Mentoring Workshop Series – Spring 2024

The Entering Mentoring Workshop is a professional development series facilitated by Duke graduate students affiliated with the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience and Duke Institute for Brain Sciences. The workshop is adapted from the Entering Mentoring Series developed by the University of Wisconsin (CIMER) and focuses on teaching effective mentorship techniques.

Katherine Myers, PT, DPT, PhD, Successfully Defends Her Dissertation

Katherine D. Myers, PT, DPT, PhD, successfully passed her final defense for her PhD, titled “Educator Identity Formation of the Clinical Instructor in Physical Therapy: A Qualitative Exploration.”   She began her studies at NC State in the fall of 2020, at the height of a global pandemic. While holding the clinical education program together at Duke and ensuring all our students had clinical placements in an unforeseeable clinical environment, Dr. Myers plugged into a very demanding program.
