Luo and Tan Elected to AAP

Two faculty members from Duke University School of Medicine and Duke-NUS Medical School were honored with election to the Association of American Physicians (AAP) for 2024.  

Xunrong Luo, MD, PhD, a professor of medicine, professor of pathology, professor of integrative immunobiology, and professor in surgery, is a kidney transplant expert. Her research primarily focuses on the induction and mechanisms of transplantation tolerance. 

Patrick Tan, MD, PhD, a professor and senior vice dean for research at Duke-Nus Medical School, is an internationally known cancer researcher who leads discovery-driven science into the genomics of cancers prevalent in Asia. 

The AAP is an honorific, elected society of America’s leading physician-scientists who exemplify the pinnacle of pioneering and enduring, impactful contributions to improve health. Election is an honor extended to physicians with outstanding credentials in basic or translational biomedical research and is limited to 70 persons per year.
