Building Pathways: 4th Annual High School ImpACT Program
On June 26–27, Duke’s Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) and Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) programs came together to host the 4th Annual High School ImpACT Program. We welcomed eight students from City of Medicine Academy and Hillside High School for two days of hands-on learning, exploration, and connection centered around health, wellness, and the impactful roles of OTs and PTs in our communities.
Duke Physician Assistant Program Celebrates Class of 2026 at White Coat Ceremony
The Duke Physician Assistant Program held its annual White Coat Ceremony on June 27. During the ceremony, 89 students from the class of 2026 received white coats, marking their transition from classroom learning to clinical training.
Available AAMC Faculty Development Programs
The AAMC has several upcoming development opportunities that may be of interest to School of Medicine faculty and staff. These offerings complement internal programs and are led by expert facilitators who understand the academic medicine environment. Programs from the AAMC have received strong feedback from past participants.
Study Highlights Impact of After-School Program on Teen Health and Transit Use
Dr. Emily D’Agostino, DPH, MS, MEd, MA, associate professor of Orthopaedics and director of Community-Engaged Research Practice in the Occupational Therapy Doctoral Division, led the evaluation of the Going Places initiative—a community-based after-school program developed by Durham Parks and Recreation in collaboration with Duke pediatric and orthopaedic researchers.
Service in Action from Campus Events to Burton Elementary
It has been a full year for Duke PA students, both in and outside the classroom. From hosting fundraisers and school carnivals to the much-loved visit to Burton Elementary, they have found meaningful ways to make their mark and shine a light on the PA profession.
