The AAMC has several upcoming development opportunities that may be of interest to School of Medicine faculty and staff. These offerings complement internal programs and are led by expert facilitators who understand the academic medicine environment. Programs from the AAMC have received strong feedback from past participants.

  • Leading for Impact (Virtual – July 2025) 
    Best for department, unit, or mission-area leaders. 
    Tailored for experienced leaders, this program equips participants with tools to drive change, shape organizational culture, and implement strategic vision. The inaugural virtual cohort is a unique opportunity to connect with other senior leaders in academic medicine.

  • Elevate Your Potential (Virtual – August 2025) 
    Best for early-career professionals and Individuals seeking foundational leadership skills. 
    This interactive program helps individuals enhance self-awareness, increase personal effectiveness, and build foundational leadership skills. Ideal for those with lacking formal leadership training, this offering empowers participants to lead with confidence from wherever they sit.

  • Organizational Leadership in Academic Medicine for New Associate Deans and Department Chairs (In-Person – October 6–8, 2025 | Austin, TX) 
  • Best for associate deans and department chairs in their first 3 years. 
    This two-and-a-half-day seminar addresses the critical challenges and responsibilities of newly appointed academic leaders. Participants will explore strategies for managing complex operations, leading teams, and building influence across their institutions.
    Applications are open through June 30. 
  • Transforming Conflict into Collaboration (Virtual Workshop – Offered in August & October) 
    Best for faculty and staff seeking foundational conflict management skills. 
    This practical, introductory workshop helps participants navigate workplace conflict with confidence. Attendees will learn how to turn difficult conversations into opportunities for collaboration while fostering a respectful, productive environment.
