Faculty Development Strategic Planning

The Office for Faculty is engaged in a strategic planning process to stay responsive to the needs of our faculty community.

We aim to implement a strategic planning system that sets direction but is intentionally designed to stay flexible and evolve as needs and pressures shift. This living roadmap will guide our priorities and programming and help us identify opportunities for stronger collaboration within and outside the institution.

2026-2027 Process Overview

cycle of arrows guiding principles, needs assessment, input from partners, develop priorities, identify strategies, implementation, and evaluation

  • We stay true to our mission to advance and inspire growth and build community
  • We adopt a restorative mindset
  • We stay flexible to changing needs
  • We utilize adult learning principles
  • We ensure educational opportunities are efficient and impactful
  • We understand that training is not the solution to every challenge

The Office for Faculty is currently conducting a series of listening sessions to hear from School of Medicine faculty directly about their needs and experiences. Sign up to participate today!

Sessions will be held throughout September and will explore:

  • Professional development needs and interests
  • Programs and resources you value
  • Current challenges you face as a faculty member
  • What you would like to see more of in the future

Register for a session online, or e-mail us if you are unable to participate but still have feedback to share.

We look forward to hearing from as many voices as possible as we shape our future faculty development priorities.
