Duke-NUS Travel Grant 2025

Duke-NUS Medical School (Duke-NUS) is seeking applications from Duke University faculty interested in visiting and collaborating with Duke-NUS faculty on potential research projects.

This initiative aims to foster partnerships in key basic science areas, including cancer and stem cell biology, neuroscience and behavioral disorders, cardiovascular and metabolic disorders, health services and systems, emerging infectious diseases, and clinical sciences in partnership with SingHealth. 

Visits must take place before May 31st 2026. Interested faculty are required to submit an NIH-style biosketch and a 1–2-page letter describing how the research program would benefit from such a visit and fits with ongoing research initiatives at Duke-NUS.  Letters must include the proposed date(s) for the visit and name, department and e-mail address of the Duke-NUS or SingHealth host. Selected applicants will be required to present a research seminar.

Applicants must submit an online application by 11:59 p.m. EST May 2, 2025.

After a joint Duke/Duke-NUS committee review, selections will be announced by May 20, 2025. As many as 10 awards will be granted, and priority will be given to faculty members visiting Duke-NUS for the first time. 

Duke-NUS will provide financial support for selected participants, including:

  • Transportation to and from airports
  • Round trip Premium-economy travel from Durham to Singapore
  • Five nights in Singapore
  • Per diem
  • Seminar honorarium
  • Singapore withholding tax for non-residents
