Providing seamless data access
The Vice Dean promotes open, secure, and appropriate access to data under Duke’s stewardship and beyond by:
• Mapping options for accessing data including their costs and the policies that govern use of specific data sets
• Convening a University-wide working group including campus and School libraries to address data access
• Pursuing funding for building an open science and data cataloging infrastructure
• Supporting the Duke Health Data Prospector to increase high quality use
• Joining stakeholders in crafting a vision for data liquidity at Duke
School of Medicine Strategic Research Plan goals addressed: 1, 2, 3, and 4
