Applications for the 2027 Duke-NUS Research Exchange Program are now open.
This program provides a fully funded opportunity for Duke PhD students and postdoctoral fellows in the biological, biomedical, or biomedical engineering sciences to spend up to 30 days conducting research at Duke-NUS Medical School in Singapore.
Participants will collaborate with leading scientists, gain exposure to new research approaches, and broaden their professional networks while experiencing one of Asia's leading biomedical research hubs.
Applications are due October 16, 2026.
Application Requirements
Applications will require the following information:
- Applicant Details
- Full name
- Email address
- Proposed travel dates
- How you heard about the program
- Application Packet (single PDF upload)
- NIH-style biosketch
- Application proposal and endorsement statement (maximum 2 pages, Arial 11-point font, 0.5” margins)
- A brief statement (2–4 sentences) signed by the principal investigators of both your current (originating) lab, and your proposed host lab
- This statement must endorse your application and research objectives, and clearly identify:
- The host laboratory at Duke-NUS Medical School
- The overall research objective(s) and specific aim(s) of your visit
- How the exchange will enhance your research and training
Application Timeline
- October 16: Application deadline
- December 4: Review panel completes final approvals
- December 10: Award notifications issued
