Academic Leadership Opportunities

The Office of Duke-NUS Affairs offers Duke faculty a range of academic opportunities to engage with colleagues at Duke-NUS Medical School, including knowledge exchanges, curriculum development projects, and collaborative networking visits. These programs are designed to help faculty share expertise, expand professional networks, and broaden their global academic impact.

Joint Faculty Appointments

Duke faculty have the opportunity to hold a fractional appointment at Duke-NUS, with varying percentages available based on the nature of the role. Each appointment level carries corresponding expectations for engagement and contributions.

Our office works closely with departmental business managers to facilitate the HR process and ensure a smooth appointment experience.

If you are a Duke faculty member and would like to learn more about fractional appointments, please contact our office at dukenusaffairs@duke.edu.

Proposal Review Support

The Grant Proposal Pre-Review Program invites Duke faculty to lend their expertise in support of emerging researchers at SingHealth. As part of this initiative, faculty volunteers review early-stage research proposals from junior investigators before they are submitted for external grant funding.

By providing constructive feedback on design, methodology, and clarity, reviewers help strengthen the quality and competitiveness of these proposals, ultimately advancing promising research ideas and fostering collaboration.

An honorarium is provided in recognition of the time and expertise contributed by reviewers.

Opportunities to serve as a reviewer arise from time to time throughout the year. If you are a Duke faculty member and would like to be considered when the need arises, please contact Evan Dorner at evan.dorner@duke.edu.
