RFA: 2026 Duke-Duke-NUS Travel Grants

Duke-NUS Medical School (Duke-NUS) is seeking applications from Duke University investigators interested in visiting Singapore and collaborating with Duke-NUS faculty on health and biomedical research projects.

Duke–Duke-NUS Travel Grants foster cross-campus collaboration across signature basic science research programs at Duke-NUS and academic clinical sciences in partnership with SingHealth.

This is a fully funded opportunity that includes round-trip airfare from Durham to Singapore, five nights of accommodations, a daily per diem, and more.

Award recipients will be expected to participate in scheduled meetings with Duke-NUS faculty and other relevant stakeholders for a minimum of three days during the visit and to deliver a research seminar as part of the program. All travel must be completed by December 31, 2026.

Submission Timeline

  • Proposal Submission: Applicants must submit an online application no later than 11:59 p.m. (EST) on March 6, 2026
  • Review and Selection Process: Submitted applications will undergo a formal review by a joint Duke-Duke-NUS committee in accordance with the program’s evaluation criteria. Priority will be given to faculty members visiting Duke-NUS for the first time.
  • Award Notification: Applicants will be notified of award results by March 27, 2026.

Application Requirements

Applications will require the following information:

  • Applicant details
  • Proposed Duke-NUS or SingHealth host details
  • Proposed travel dates
  • NIH-style biosketch (single PDF upload)
  • Application proposal (no more than two pages)
    • Statements should endorse and clearly identify :
      • The proposed host faculty member at Duke-NUS or SingHealth

      • The overall objectives and specific aims of your visit

      • How the exchange will support the applicant's scholarly, educational, and professional development 

      • How the proposed activities advance the Duke–Duke-NUS partnership and strengthen collaborative research and education in health and biomedical sciences

Funding & Support

This program is fully funded and covers:

  • Round-trip economy-class airfare
  • Accommodation for up to 5 nights
  • A per diem for meals and local transportation
  • Airport transfers in Durham and Singapore
  • An honorarium in support of the required seminar presentation
  • Applicable Singapore withholding taxes for non-residents
