Our mission is to provide centralized services to support SOM students and others involved in the healthcare learning environment. Check out our website.
Le Well extends a warm welcome to Duke's MBS program's new cohort of students, who began their year on July 1 and have already become immersed in intensive study and reflection.
Transitions can bring up previously-unrecognized or incompletely resolved issues.
Learning in the clinical environment has been known to bring unexpected emotions.
Life sometimes brings unexpected challenges and circumstances that do not follow our schedule.
Sometimes it can be hard to know where to turn.
Connecting with a peer can be helpful to receive support or gain perspective. Dr. McLean Pollock, an expert in peer-based social support interventions to promote emotional health, well-being and quality of life, is leading a project to bring peer support to interprofessional health professions students.
If you are looking to gain community, learn about boundaries and intentionality, and find ways to support your fellow medical and health professions students, think about joining the Peer Collective!
If you are looking for individual interactions with a near peer in another program (the psychology internship), maybe you would find 1:1 peer support to be helpful.

In the Works
World Day of Encouragement is coming up on Friday, September 12!
Le Well is thrilled to be partnering with the Doctor of Physical Therapy program to host an event to highlight the importance of encouragement and support. We are in the planning phases and are trying to gauge interest in a low-key crafting activity associated with a presentation on Kawa, a model developed and championed by the OTD program's own Dr. Michael Iwama, and its applicability to everyday life and occupation. Please respond to this survey gauging your interest and save the date!
We are eager to hear from you regarding your ideas for ways to support you better! Please let us know if you have ideas or feedback for wellness-promoting activities.
