Le Well and Duke's Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) are collaborating to decrease barriers in helping our students optimize their mental health. Students in all of the SOM Health Profession Education Programs are eligible to access a CAPS counselor in the Trent Semans Center, Suite 4010.
With gratitude to University Student Affairs leader Dr. Libby Skiles and Interim Director of CAPS Dr. Renee' Evans, Le Well is thrilled to introduce CAPS@Le Well Counselor, Monica Money MS, CRC, LCMHC. Monica is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in practice since 2014. She draws on a wealth of experience to tailor whole-person care using evidence-based treatment approaches to include person-centered therapy, reality therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and holistic wellness theory.
Appointments are available by calling the main CAPS line (919) 660-1000, and ask to be scheduled with Monica at the CAPS@ Le Well location (Trent Semans Center, Suite 4010).:
- Tuesdays & Wednesdays, 11:00 am - 7:00 pm
- Thursdays, 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Students in the School of Medicine programs are also welcome to present to CAPS at the campus Wellness Center. Please reach out to Dr. Jane Gagliardi if you encounter any difficulties accessing care through CAPS.
CAPS counselors are available for short-term counseling, and CAPS psychiatrists are available for diagnostic evaluations and medication recommendations. For students with longer-term behavioral health needs, options include obtaining medications and regular follow-up through Student Health and/or seeking behavioral healthcare through community clinicians in-network with your insurance. CAPS has individuals who can help students navigate the process of referral to the community for long-term care.

"I look forward to creating a safe space for the students so that they are free to express themselves." ~ Monica Money
