Duke AHEC is a primary partner in learning and teaching with Southern Regional AHEC (SR-AHEC) located in Fayetteville, North Carolina. As a partner with SR-AHEC, Duke AHEC aims to support their residency and continuing education programs.
In addition to the primary AHEC partnership, Duke AHEC collaborates with the remaining eight NC AHEC centers to address the continuing education needs of health care providers in their region. Our staff works closely with statewide AHEC partners to coordinate continuing education speakers in the following disciplines: Allied Health, Behavioral Health, Medicine, Nursing, and Pharmacy. The Duke AHEC staff also assists our partner AHECs with identifying and coordinating the collaboration between AHECs and Duke faculty and staff, to provide expert healthcare professionals to facilitate continuing education across the state.
There are continuous requests for more Duke Health professionals to join Duke AHEC in the effort to continue to identify and provide cutting-edge educational offerings to our health care professionals in NC by recommending topics that could be offered to our NC health professionals throughout our rural counties. There is also the need for Duke expert professionals to agree to facilitate educational topics requested by our various AHECs.
