  • Initial advisory committee meeting
  • Fall RCR Orientation, first day of Orientation
By late August Submit first rotation to program coordinator 
By mid October Submit second rotation to program coordinator
By December 20
  • Advisory committee meeting
  • Register for spring semester
By early January Submit third rotation to program coordinator
By early March Submit fourth rotation to program coordinator
By April 30
  • Advisory committee meeting
  • Register for fall semester
By end of summer term

Submit the following to program coordinator:

  • Dissertation Advisor/Co-Advisor Selection Form
  • Dissertation Student Commitment Form
  • Financial Statement Form

By August 30  
  • Meet with Advisory Committee
  • Submit Committee Approval Form to program coordinator
By December 20
  • Meet with Advisory Committee
By March 1          
  • Pre-Prelim meeting with dissertation committee to prepare for preliminary exam
  • Submit one-page summary to program coordinator and dissertation committee
  • Submit preliminary target date to program coordinator
By April 15
  • Progress Report Form
  • Annual Survey
By July 31
  • Schedule preliminary exam
  • Give date of preliminary exam to program coordinator

  • Submit written proposal to program coordinator and preliminary committee prior to scheduled preliminary exam
  • Preliminary exam
By April 30          

Submit the following to program coordinator:

  • Progress Report Form
  • Annual Survey

 

Date Event
 Before the last day of the fall semester
  • Annual meeting with dissertation committee
  • Submit summary of progress towards dissertation (1-2 pages) to committee and program coordinator prior to meeting
By April 30
  • Progress Report Form
  • Annual Survey
