ME2 implements the mission by creating programming and activities that focus on the following five pillars:
Administration
To provide administrative efficiency that will keep the ME² Black Employee Resource Group well organized and productive. With a goal of operational excellence this pillar will connect and support the other pillars as needed.
Mentoring
To provide a mentoring and advocacy program for Black staff that focuses on our unique needs as it relates to purposeful professional development promoting career growth and retention.
Education
To provide a framework and foundation for increasing educational opportunities and training programs for Black staff.
Volunteering
To provide a strong volunteer presence with the goal of enhancing and continuously growing robust relationships between staff and the communities that surround Duke. As a community stakeholder, it is important that we build sustainable relationships.
Social Engagement
To assist Black staff in the creation of strong professional networks that can be key to career success. The path to creating authentic connections often happens during social events, making the social engagement pillar a vital part of the ME² Black Employee Resource Group structure.
Communications
To develop a strong communications plan which is integral to the development and implementation of the ME2 Black ERG and it's mission. Clear and comprehensive messaging strategies targeting our membership and external audiences are critical to our success as an organization.
