The Multicultural Resource Center makes small awards for School of Medicine students who are interested in increasing their ability to serve patients from diverse backgrounds. Awards can be used for travel, conferences, away rotations, mission trips, language immersion, and for student-initiated projects. In order to be considered for support, the program or destination must provide an experiential opportunity for engagement with a community that differs from that of the applicant. Upon completion of the program, the awardee must submit a one-page reflection essay that outlines what was learned and what the applicant learned about him or herself.

Please note that all awards are processed as reimbursements. Original receipts that total the amount of the award must be submitted to the Director, 4020 Trent Semans within two weeks after travel.
