Protected Research Computer Cluster (PRCC) is Duke Health’s secure virtual enclave designed to support research and quality improvement initiatives involving identifiable protected health information (PHI). It provides a compliant, scalable, and collaborative environment for data analysis, enabling researchers to work with sensitive data while meeting institutional and federal standards.
PRCC is governed by Duke Health’s security policies and adheres to NIST 800-53 r5 (moderate) standards. Key compliance features include:
- FIPS 140-2 encryption across system components
- Annual user privilege reviews
- Required re-signing of access agreements upon updates
Note: Clicking the Request PRCC button will take you to the Request for PACE Services page. Since the ticketing system is still being updated for PRCC, please submit your request using the “Request a new individual PACE workspace” option for now. OASIS staff will get back to you to ensure you receive the appropriate services. We appreciate your patience during this transition.
