Welcome!
Q&A with Dr. Harville
Q: What’s your hometown?
A: Danville, VA
Q: What brings you joy?
A: I enjoy watching cat videos, playing with kittens, and helping cats thrive. I also love it when a patient begins to improve and can participate in the activities they used to love. Similarly, I find joy in watching students get that “aha” moment when they understand a difficult concept.
Q: What excites you about this role at Duke?
A: I am excited to work with so many students from different backgrounds and walks of life. I am also very excited to expand my skill set as an educator and learn new ways to engage and empower students.
Q: Where do you see your area of physical therapy going within the next 5 to 10 years?
A: Within the next decade, my hope is for pelvic physical therapy to be more inclusive and bring all walks of life to the table (especially since everyone has a pelvis!). Along the same lines, I believe physical therapy as a profession will become more inclusive of gender diversity and more people will be skilled in the rehabilitation of gender-affirming surgeries.
