Each year the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA) awards 15 Future Educator Fellowships to students of its member schools.

The PAEA website describes the opportunity as an “exciting year-long fellowship, designed to explore foundations in teaching, expose students to the current educational environment, and expand professional development and leadership opportunities.”

Among this year’s awardees is Duke Physician Assistant Program student Kay Burrows.

“The Future Educator Fellowship will allow me to have a structured introduction to the vast world of PA education. With the fellowship, I hope to learn about the balance between clinical practice and academia, explore adult learning principles, and start building skills that will help me better serve future students and colleagues. I'm really looking forward to connecting with a network of current and future educators that all have the same goal in mind: supporting the bright future of the PA profession.”

Visit the PAEA website for the full list of this year's awardees.
