First-year student Skyler Gubbels has been elected to serve on the Student Academy Board of Directors for the 2025 cycle. Gubbels will represent the Southeast region as the Southeast Regional Director.
The AAPA website describes the Regional Director position as follows:
“The Student Academy includes six Regional Directors charged with communicating AAPA news and information, resources, and opportunities with Student Academy Representatives (SARs) within their respective regions. They work to increase student awareness of Student Academy leadership opportunities, AAPA student member benefits, and AAPA advocacy efforts. During their one-year leadership term, Regional Directors are responsible for actively encouraging and assisting all PA programs within their region to establish and register a student society with the Student Academy.”
The Student Academy speaks on behalf of PA students nationwide and is guided by the Student Board of Directors. According to AAPA, “the Student Academy embraces AAPA’s mission with a focus on student-oriented engagement, professional development, and advocacy.”
During the 2025 cycle, there were ten open positions on the Student Academy Board of Directors.
