Duke Roybal: Behavioral Intervention Development Grant Writing: Creating a Specific Aims Page to Guide Your Proposal

Duke Roybal will be hosting an Intervention Development Workshop titled Behavioral Intervention Development Grant Writing: Creating a Specific Aims Page to Guide Your Proposal
When:
Wednesday, April 28, 2021, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM EST
Speakers:
- Tamara Somers, PhD, Associate Professor, Duke University, Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, Behavioral Medicine
- Nia S. Mitchell, MD, MPH, Assistant Professor, Duke University, General Internal Medicine
OVERVIEW:
This Roybal Workshop will provide participants with interactive didactic and experiential learning on writing behavioral intervention development grants. The focus will be on writing a Specific Aims page that can serve as a guide for the creating the rest of the grant proposal. Grant writing is a skill and investigators at all levels will likely benefit from participating though the content will be geared toward early intervention development grant writers. Instruction and group activities will be most reflective of skills for internal pilot grant proposals or small external grant mechanisms (e.g., foundation, R03, R21). Participants will be active in small break out groups during the workshop; each small group will have a facilitator. No preparatory work will be required.

Are you having trouble checking in calendar visits in OnCore?
We’ve caught a bug with our last upgrade OnCore. If you find that you are now unable to check in a Subject Visit on the subject’s Calendar, ask your Finance Practice Manager (FPM) to update the Parameters tab on the Financial Console.
Setting the Rate Base to Research-Research and adding the Default Sponsor will fix the problem.
Still can’t check in the visit? Email oncore@duke.edu to create a ServiceNow ticket. Remember to include the Protocol Number and subject information (Seq. No., MRN or name).
New Training Video: Invoicing in OnCore (10 min)
SOM Finance and DOCR collaborated to create a quick micro-learning video on Creating an Invoice in OnCore. The 10-minute video is now available in the Duke LMS.
This training provides instructions for when and how to create an invoice in OnCore, as well as a bit of guidance around payments and cautions for common issues when invoicing. It is an excellent resource for financial staff who perform tasks related to invoicing in OnCore.
Click the link to access the video in the LMS.
