Yvonne started her healthcare journey as a NYC Paramedic, and after 25 years became a Pediatric Emergency Room Nurse. Her passion for working in interprofessional teams and helping others has since translated into a career in Nursing Education. Yvonne relocated to NC in 2021 and began her work at Duke as a Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE). As a DUHS CNE, she works primarily with the Perianesthesia units. In her role, she helps to create research-based, innovative, educational opportunities for the nurses and their healthcare partners; she works to create innovative simulation experiences; orients new nurses to their role; and works with leadership to improve quality and safety in the perianesthesia setting. In her spare time, Yvonne loves to be outdoors to enjoy the Carolina sun and is currently learning how to grow a vegetable garden.
