I grew up in Malaysia and moved to the U.S. to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia, where I earned bachelor’s degrees in journalism and sociology. After spending a rewarding decade working in journalism across several states, I decided to pivot to something that truly inspires me: occupational therapy.
As a proud BIPOC/AAPI, first-generation immigrant, LGBTQIA+ ally, military spouse, and parent to two young children, I bring a diverse perspective to my studies. My experiences have fueled my advocacy for marginalized communities and my commitment to making a difference through OT. Choosing Duke OTD has been one of the best decisions of my life, thanks to the program's collaborative environment and exceptional faculty.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, scuba diving, playing with my kids, and doing hand embroidery. I can’t wait to connect with others curious about this journey!
