Stephen Keir, DrPH, MPH is director of Translational Research and Professor of Neurosurgery. Translational research involves using novel laboratory findings to develop clinical applications and practical advances in health care as quickly as possible. Keir’s roles include establishing collaborative relationships with experts in the field of neuro-oncology and pharmaceutical companies; serving as the liaison between internal and external development teams during collaborations; assisting in the identification, design, and conduct of preclinical development studies; and working closely with the Office of Science and Technology to expedite the transfer of confidentiality agreements and material transfers.
