Sarah is originally from Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Utah State in 2020. Sarah spent several months in Seattle, WA, on a service mission where she worked directly with Deaf individuals. She was drawn to OT through a peer mentorship group in high school, where she partnered with peers and younger students with various disabilities. Her work with the Deaf further drew her to OT as she saw just how many disparities there were in community participation. She loves Duke OT because of the focus on appreciating who we all are as individuals and the power we give to each other.
