Dr. Smith earned a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise and Sports Sciences from the University of the Pacific, a Master of Occupational Therapy from Samuel Merritt University, and a Clinical Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Elizabethtown College with a specialization in Trauma Informed Care and Autism.
Dr. Smith has been an occupational therapy clinical practitioner for over 14 years, working in a variety of settings such as acute care (adult/pediatrics), outpatient pediatrics, school-based pediatrics, hippotherapy, pediatric pelvic health, and academia. She is the lead faculty instructor and course director for Applied Practice Experience (APEx) courses in the Duke OTD program.
