Hello everyone! My name is Olivia, and I am a first-year medical student at Duke. I was originally born in Nairobi, Kenya, and immigrated to Raleigh, NC in 2010. I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill (Go Heels!!!) in 2024 with a degree in Biology and Medical Anthropology. I took two gap years and completed my Postbacc at UNCG while working nights as a 911 EMT. During my second gap year, I also worked as a medical assistant in a family medicine clinic. Along the way, I have had the chance to explore interests in women's health and osteoarthritis research.

Outside of academia, I crochet! I am also an avid reality TV binger and have seen almost every show in the Real Housewives franchise. I am happy to yap about Duke, being first-gen, or anything else! Don't hesitate to reach out, and good luck!
