Hello! My name is Monique Marie Vilme. I was born in Queens, but raised in Long Island, New York. I am a proud Haitian American. I graduated from Macaulay Honors College at CUNY Hunter in 2021 with a BA in Human Biology with a concentration in Body, Health, and Mind and a minor in Japanese Studies. After graduating early, I spent 1.5 years teaching English to elementary and junior high school students in a small fishing town in Japan. During my MS3 year at Duke, I earned my MPH with a concentration in Population Health for Clinicians from UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. I am very passionate about maternal/child health, improving disparities in healthcare, and health policy as it relates to health equity. I love spending time with my family, reading, and trying new restaurants!
