Lucy Cummins

Hello! I’m originally from Portland, OR, but have been out on the east coast for a few years now and am loving the North Carolina sun. I studied anthropology, public health, and biology at the University of Richmond, and after college I spent a year working in a Boston hospital on quality improvement projects. Now, outside of my preclinical coursework, I am part of our medical Spanish and humanities classes, the JFU Telehealth Initiative, the Quality and Innovation Scholars Program, the Interprofessional Student Advisory Committee, and Raising Our Community’s Knowledge. I love reading, doing anything outside, and taking care of my (many) plants! Looking toward the future, I’m considering family medicine and psychiatry. Whatever I do, I hope to center my work around advocacy for health equity and community health improvement.
