Associate Dean for Finance & Resource Planning

Katie Thornsvard joined Duke University School of Medicine as the Associate Dean for Finance & Resource Planning on November 1, 2022. She came to Duke from the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, where she spent 14 years in a number of positions, including Associate Dean for Finance. Prior to that she worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina and the University of Virginia. Katie has a B.A. in History from the University of Virginia and a Masters in Accounting from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. She is also a Certified Public Accountant.
