Katherine Stanley, MBA, was appointed Associate Dean for the Section of Surgical Disciplines upon the creation of the section. The Section of Surgical Disciplines is a new organizational structure in the School of Medicine that will centralize administrative support including finance and business development and clinical trials and grants administration – leveraging services and expertise and reducing costs for departments who join the section.
The Department of Surgery and the new Department of Head & Neck Surgery and Communication Sciences will comprise the new section. As new surgical departments emerge in the future, they would become part of the section as well.
Katherine is also the the Chief Administrator for the Duke Department of Surgery.
