Hi! My name is Kaitlin, and I'm a first-year student here. After growing up in Pittsburgh, attending undergrad in the midwest, and spending my gap years in Boston, I'm excited to now be exploring the Southeast! If there's one thing I've learned so far, it's that Durham has a way of sneaking up on you and will endlessly (and very positively) surprise you. Academically, I'm also eager to continue my exploration of various medical specialties, building upon prior experiences as a scribe in the ED/GI outpatient clinic and as a Clinical Research Coordinator in cancer clinical trials. I've loved these experiences for very different reasons and am remaining open-minded to all things thus far! Fortunately for me and for you, Duke provides extensive opportunities to uncover your interests, both inside and outside of medicine. As a first-year student, the admissions process and subsequent transition to medical school are very fresh!
