Jennifer Averitt joined the School Of Medicine as Associate Dean for Medical Education Administration in August 2021. She is responsible for the administration and oversight of all operational aspects for the medical education units as well as liaison with other School of Medicine educational areas. This includes finance and budgeting, human resources, project planning, direct supervision and oversight of Med Ed Admin, Financial Aid, Registrar, Med Ed IT, Gross Anatomy and Anatomical Gifts.
Ms. Averitt served for the past three years as the Senior Administrative Director for DUHS Hospital Medicine, supporting providers and staff across Duke University Hospital, Duke Regional Hospital and Duke Raleigh Hospital. Prior to joining Hospital Medicine, she was the Division Administrator for Internal Medicine Medical Education, with administrative oversight of the residency and fellowship programs in the Department of Medicine. Ms. Averitt holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Southern California.
