James White is a dual MD/MBA candidate at Duke University School of Medicine and the Fuqua School of Business, where he is pursuing a concentration in Health Sector Management. Prior to medical school, James spent 14 years as an active-duty Army officer in Special Operations. Additionally, he spent three years working as a paramedic in a 911-based system. He holds an M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from UNC and NC State and a B.S. in International Relations and International Law from the United States Military Academy at West Point. His interests sit at the intersection of clinical medicine, healthcare leadership, technology, and systems improvement, with the long-term goal of combining surgical practice with healthcare innovation and physician leadership.
