Originally from Charlotte, NC, Emelda graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill, where she earned her B.S. in Exercise and Sport Science with a minor in Biology. She was drawn to pursue her next degree at Duke because of its commitment to service, occupational justice, and health equity. In the coming years, she is interested in exploring the space where innovation, technology, and healthcare intersect to improve individuals' holistic well-being. She is excited to join this unique and wholesome profession dedicated to enhancing the quality of life among individuals of all communities.
