Dr. Danny Laskowitz, M.D., MHS – Vice Chair of Academics, Associate Professor of Medicine, Anesthesiology and Neurobiology Department of Neurology; Director, Neurovascular Laboratories Dr. Laskowitz is a graduate of Duke University School of Medicine (1991) and Brown University (1987), where he majored in Neuroscience. Dr. Laskowitz serves as Duke-NUS Education and Research Liaison. In this role, he works to enhance the Duke-NUS student research experience. In addition, he develops neuroscience collaborations between Duke, DCRI and Duke-NUS.
After completing his Neurology Residency at the University of Pennsylvania in 1995, he returned to Duke to complete fellowship training in Neurocritical Care and Stroke. He has remained active in both laboratory-based and clinical research, and completed his Masters of Health Science in Clinical Research in 2003. He currently serves as the Fellowship Director in Neurocritical Care and Director of the Neurovascular Laboratory. Dr. Laskowitz attends on the Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit, a multidisciplinary unit in which patients with life-threatening neurological diseases such as stroke, trauma, and intracranial hemorrhage are cared for. Treatments for many of these conditions remain limited, and Dr. Laskowitz has led several clinical research projects
