Beth is a Quality Control Associate in the Office of Regulatory Affairs and Quality (ORAQ) within the Duke University School of Medicine. In this role, she is responsible for performing a variety of Quality Control duties to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and for providing quality testing and environmental monitoring to support Duke’s Marcus Center Cures for Cellular Diseases GMP production facility.
She received bachelor's degrees in Chemistry and Science Education from North Carolina State University and started her career as a high school science teacher. With a desire to take part in the process of science, she transitioned into the biopharmaceutical industry and gained GMP experience at Seqirus in downstream production of the flu vaccine and at Pfizer in upstream processing of clinical trial material of a Gene Therapy for Hemophilia B.
When not working, Beth enjoys spending time with family and friends, knitting, and star gazing with her telescope.
