Hi, I’m Alex, an MS2 at Duke! I grew up in Massachusetts, but after the snowiest winter on record I headed south to the University of Miami, where I walked onto the baseball team my freshman year and later caught the research bug. I spent five years after undergrad doing research in neuroscience, medical imaging, and stem cell genetics (a bit longer than initially planned!) before landing in the middle of the East Coast here in Durham as a part of the Duke Med family! I’m involved in research, serve on the Duke Health-Related Social Needs Transportation Steering Committee, and co-founded the Urban Health Interest Group. Outside of school, I enjoy playing baseball and tennis, cooking/grilling, reading about urban planning, exploring Durham, cheering on the Blue Devils, and going to the beach!
