Hey everyone! My name is Alagu and I am a current MS1 at Duke Med. I graduated from Baylor University with a University Scholars degree, concentrating in biochemistry, medical humanities, and business administration. I am also a Churchill Scholar at the University of Cambridge, where I worked on tissue engineering and regenerative stem cell therapies for musculoskeletal diseases. Before starting at Duke, I gained a multidisciplinary background in translational drug discovery across various disease areas, having worked in academia, government, industry, and non-profit sectors.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy teaching science, mentoring students, choreographing multicultural dances, playing soccer, and playing the saxophone. I’m always happy to chat about translational careers, research, medical humanities, or any general advice! Looking forward to connecting!
