Hi! My name is Adriana, and I am a first-year medical student at DukeMed. I was born and raised in Orlando, FL, by my parents, who immigrated to the U.S. from Cuba. I attended the University of Florida (Go Gators!), where I majored in public health. During my gap year, I worked in Greenville, SC, as an HIV prevention outreach specialist. Some of my interests include health equity and advocacy, sexual health, and supporting students underrepresented in medicine. Outside of school, I love to cook and spend time outdoors.
