Sowers Named to Lead Johns Hopkins Medicine

Kevin Sowers will be leaving his position as president of Duke University Hospital (DUH) to become the next president of The Johns Hopkins Health System and executive vice president of Johns Hopkins Medicine. Kevin will assume his new posts at Johns Hopkins effective February 1, 2018. Kevin came to DUH in 1985 as a staff nurse in oncology and has served in various leadership roles of increasing responsibility over the past 20 years. He was appointed chief operating officer at DUH in 2003 and promoted to president of DUH in 2009. In addition to his effective leadership and commitment to the hospital over the years, Kevin has been an integral part of the cultural fabric of DUH that has contributed greatly to its ongoing reputation for excellence in patient care and operational performance.
