SoM's Mark Stacy named dean of Brody School of Medicine at ECU


Mark Stacy, MDMark Stacy, MD, vice dean for clinical research for the School of Medicine, has accepted a new role as dean of the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, beginning on September 1, 2017.  Dr. Stacy will step down from his position as vice dean at the end of August as he makes his transition to this exciting leadership opportunity.


Dr. Stacy, a professor in the Department of Neurology, has served as vice dean for clinical research since 2011. In this role, he has been instrumental in improving the school’s clinical research practice and developing Duke’s site-based research community. Dr. Stacy has had oversight of Duke’s Institutional Review Board (IRB), the Duke Office of Clinical Research (DOCR), Office of Regulatory Affairs, and the Duke Biobank initiative. 


Dr. Stacy joined the Duke University faculty in 2003 and served as director of Duke’s Movement Disorders Program.
